Keeping heat in is a big issue in English houses, but you don't need half a meter of wall to do it. The temprature variation isn't so great from summer to winter that the benifits of a cave-like dwelling pay off. And polystyrene? Green? Look at any decent Scandinavian or even Canadian housing, that's done with simple wood and or brickAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14798090.post-1132061565870314592005-11-15T13:32:00.000+00:002005-11-15T13:32:00.000+00:00Massive walls work very well. Don't have either heating or cooling equipment, except for modest underfloor system circulating solar heated liquid to take off winter chill. Routinely have favorable 30-40 degree F. indoor vs. outdoor temp difference summer and winter.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14798090.post-1131927476891682912005-11-14T00:17:00.000+00:002005-11-14T00:17:00.000+00:00Wow :) Great use of blogs!
